The Belmont Street Fair is a big annual event of which we have participated in for about 7 years now. This year we are going to try something a bit different…. instead of being in the midst of most of the action on the corner of 34th and Belmont, we will be on the other side of Cesar Chavez Blvd/39th Ave at 45th and Belmont in the parking lot of the Red Square Cafe and Belmont Computers.

Why would we want to be there instead….? We’ll be able to spread out, and that means for the first time at the street fair, Gregg will be able to set up screen printing demonstrations! So if you have ever wondered how screen printing works, this is a great opportunity to see the process and ask questions. There will be 2 FREE TROLLEYS that will be running from 48th to 20th up and down Belmont all day, or you can ride your bike over. Things are changing on this side of 39th and you should check it out. We really want to bring more people to this side of Belmont. There are so many new businesses ~ and a whole new food cart lot. So come check it out!

Besides screen printing demos, we will have HUNDREDS of brand new t-shirts for sale… ALL SHIRTS only $10 ea. / 2for$15 / 3for$20. It’s time to clear out the old and start with a fresh new slate (and space to work!). Gregg is also pulling out show posters, that he hand-printed, going all the way back to 1995 that will be wrapped and ready to purchase.

Phantom Chicken Booth

PLUS… our friend Sian Alexander will have a booth set up with her amazing ceramic work ~ including her incredible Garden Slugs.

Garden Slug by Sian Alexander

AND… our friend Dingo Dizmal will have some of his infamous Rubber Chicken Paintings available for sale ~ he may even ride by on his tall bike with his lovely partner and balloon-animal-queen, Miss Olive Rootbeer! Not only that… but the Red Square Cafe will be open the whole day for your coffee needs.

Remora Rubber Chickens by Dingo Dizmal

The Red Square Cafe is 2 blocks west of the new food carts, across the street from the HorseBrass Pub. We really hope you will make the journey on the Trolley and come see us!

It’s that time of year… yep ~ tomorrow is the Belmont Street Fair and Phantom Chicken will again have a booth set up at the corner of 34th and Belmont.

BSF Booth 08

We have a few new shirts, and a lot of old favorites… all t-shirts will be $15… there will even be a pile of sample shirts available for only $5 each ~ we really need to clear some space in the studio!

Plus, if we have room… I’ll have some handmade pillows available as well.

This year we worked with a Portland Illustrator, Jake D. Hollomon, to create the street fair poster. It turned out to be a great collaboration… I love playing with color!

The fair will be going all day from 10 am to 5pm and there will be booths and things to do all along Belmont street from 20th to 48th! They even have a free Trolley that takes you from one end all the way to the other. Hundreds of vendors including some of our personal friends and clients like the Mt. Tabor Veterinary Clinic, The Pie Spot, and Puddletown Cakes, Birthingway College of Midwifery, Friends of Trees, and possibly ceramic artist: Sian Alexander.

The weather is supposed to be sunny and in the 90′s… so no excuse ~come on down, say hello… and maybe grab a t-shirt or two
